Hi out there,
I just received my GoFlex Desk 3TB external drive. Great! The only thing that concerns me is the fact that the drive is positioned in a vertical position on its standpost. Do I have to use it like this or can I safely lay it on its side? You might think it funny but when I place the drive vertically on my desk or on my computer I am concerned that my cat might topple it over. My cat likes to jump on my computer or my desk when I am sitting at my computer. Therefore I'd rather put the drive on its side.
Anything wrong with that? I seem to remember that with other external drives you were advised not to use them in certain positions. How about the GoFlex Desk?

No, it does not have to be standing up. It can certainly be horizontal.
