Re: Goflex 500GB

Try installing this to the windows machine:

http://www.seagate.com/support/external-hard-drives/desktop-hard-drives/goflex-desk-for-mac/goflex-m...

Download it, install it, make sure you have the drive connected during the install.

That SHOULD work, in the event that it doesn't...you can always reformat it for NTFS (PC format) and install the paragon driver onto your mac which will allow it to be pc/mac compatible.

Let me know if you have troubles with the HFS driver.

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.

Re: Goflex 500GB

Hi,

I would recommend not using the Paragon HFS+ driver. It's not fit for purpose and has stability issues. It corupted my drive with the first file I copied on Win7 x64. Then I had problems reading it on Mac OSX and paragon informed me that i would need to buy a $40 program to fix the drive, even to just format it.

I dicovered that the fsck_hfs process hogs the CPU. if you kill it, diks utlity will start working properly again allowing format of the drive. Without spending $40 on drive warrior etc.

That said, Paragon NTFS may be a better piece of code and using NTFS between windows and Mac a much better

My recommendation is buy a seperate drive to swpa files between mac and windows due to this HFS+ driver easliy corrupting drive.
