HP P6740UK Desktop - Windows 7 Home Premium (64Bit)
Installed a new new Seagate FreeAgent Go Flex Desk 1 TB Drive (USB2 Connection) with built in Memeo Instant Back up Software without any issues and Memeo Software backed up specified files without any problem.
After the initial set up everything appeared to be fine with normal Cold Boot or Full Restarts completing in under a minute however Startups have suddenly started taking over 2-3 minutes:
- On power up Desktop and Seagate Drive Power up (Seagate Drive appears to fully power down with PC)
- Desktop appears to Boot correctly from own Hard Drive with Black Windows Start Screen appearing as normal
- Seagate Drive lights then go off & on again which coincides with Desktop appearing to pause Startup as Seagate powers up again
- Windows Sign On Screen appears as normal but after signing in Desktop appears but applications inc Desktop Gadgets and those in the Task Bar inc the network connection don't start or are not accessible for over 2-3 minutes
Contacted Seagate Support but they say its a PC or Windows Issue despite fact that Slow Startup has only occurred following instillation of Seagate Drive & associated software - Confirmed Drive was working correctly and could only suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Seagate Software.
