How do I use my GoFlex Desk on my Mac?

I bought the GoFlex Desk 2TB for mac and PC today. I'm finding this product very dificult to use.

 

Every support document I find starts from the Seagate dashboard, but I still haven't figured out how to open the seagate dashboard.

 

I bought this product to back up my mac and another portable external hard drive which contains all my media files. How do I operate this thing?
