I have a MacbookPro running Snow Leopard with a 500 GB internal hard drive, a 2 TB Seagate GoFlex (music library of 500GB) attached by a USB powered hub and a 3 TB Seagate GoFlex for Mac (Time Machine) attached by fire wire. Each drive is formatted for OS Extended (Journaled) and GUID. The 3TB Time Machine backs up the 2TB and internal drives.
My issue is that often times when I shut down by using File-Shutdown menu, the system hangs and either goes to a blue screen with the windmill turning or it leave the desktop without the icons and menu bar. Each requires a forced shutdown to shut down the system.
All of this appears to have begun after I added the 3TB drive and designated it as the Time Machine.
I would appreciate any help with this.
