Network Adaptors for newer BackupPlus drives

I am wanting a network (ethernet connected) storage device.  I like the features and look of the new Backup Plus drives recently launched by Seagate; however, the only network storage devices for the home market I am able to find on the website are for the older GoFlex Home and GoFlex Net products.

Is there a network product for the BackupPlus drives, or are there adapters that can convert the BackupPlus drives to a network drive?

Good question.

I already have a Goflex Home and was looking to get a Goflex Desk so I could interchange the drives, but it loooks like the standalone Freeagent Goflex drives are no longer available and the new Backup Plus (still sold as Goflex Desk in some stores) won't fit the Goflex Home.

I also want to know whether the new Backup Plus drive is interchangeable with the original Goflex Desk bases which are still available and whether the old style Goflex Freeagent drive will fit the new bases.

I'm fairly sure that the drive itself is compatible, but will the fancy new plastic casing allow the drive to be connected to the base?
