the easiest way, if you know where all the files are is just manually copy them and paste them into an external drive.
for example if they are all in your My Documents folder it is very easy.
f they are spread all over your computer then you can do a file search for music (for example) then copy and paste the resulting search output.
If you have backup software you should be able to configure it to filter by file type. I'm not sure about Memeo instant backup as I don't use it. But since this is once off backup while your system is reinstalled then best to do it manually

For the sake of your own health and sanity, if your data is important to you, keep a second copy on another storage (a backup)
