Hey guys, a few questions. I just recently got a 3TB Go Flex Drive. Anyway, I have transfered over 1TB of data onto it, and find the drive getting somewhat hot in its case. And I was thinking of taking it out of its enclosure to let it breathe. If I do this, can I just take it out and stick it onto a dock and it will work like it was in the enclosure? Or would I have to refomat it after I take it out? With this, I would have to retransfer the original data, then open up the enclosure and reformat. If not, I may just keep it in its original state, but I was just wondering, because of heat issues, leading to reliabiliy and longevity of the drive.
As well, I am not enjoying how I have to turn off the computer to eject the drive, as I keep my computer on for days on at times.

Hello,
We do not support taking the drive out of the enclosure and doing so would void any warranty. But, inside of the enclosure is a normal drive that can be connected to a dock or an adapter. The enclosure is not needed for the drive to function and you would not have to do any special formatting. Hopefully that helps you out.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
