Had a Go Flex Desk fail the otherday - no joy with that yet but that's another story.
Found and downloaded the Mac version of the Seagate File Recovery App. Installed and ran - didn't see the drive so I thought I'd try a reboot, unplug, power up/down type combination in the hope that it would see it. However since then the app has failed to start up. I've deleted it, searched for pref files etc, redownloaded and installed again a couple of times but without success. First run bounces the icon in the dock for a few seconds and then just stops without the app starting or any error message. Subsequent runs the icon bounces maybe once and stops. I get the same effect whether harddrive is plugged in or not. There are no other peripherals plugged in. No system changes were made between the first successful run and the subsequent ones. Anyone have any thoughts/advice?
I'm using a 2.5Ghz Intel Core i7 MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7.4. It was bought in Nov 2011.
