Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex PRO Availability???

[ Edited ]

Hi... a little question. Does anyone know when Seagate's FreeAgent GoFlex Pro 750GB External HDD is going to be available???

It was available almost one month ago, and I was unlucky to ordered it just as it went to the backorder status, but the FAQ states that it shouldn't be longer than a week for their warehouse to replenish orders. The thing is that I've been waiting for almost a month now (it's been 3 weeks and some days) and like 1 week and a half back I contacted Seagate support and they told me that I should receive one within 5 business days and (as you figured) nothing has been sent yet!

So does anyone have a clue????

Re: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex PRO Availability???

It is already available, but according to my information, it has not been the most popular capacity for this kind of drive and so its availability has been curtailed somewhat.

Check here.

Thanks for your reply and for the info I did not know. It's too bad that the 750GB isn't getting too much demand but it's the only HDD from the GoFlex Family at 7200 RPM and with no Power Ouput needed and truly portable (which really takes advantage of the eSata cable and makes it an external portable HDD wonder). I guess that a 1TB version would have been more popular but even more expensive.

But I should've been more specific about my question. When is it going to be available on Seagate's Online Store? (I ordered it from there). I've seen it on Amazon available (although they ran out of stock pretty fast) and other online stores, but Seagate's store is the one I'm interested in and frankly I'm getting a little desperate that It could take more than a month for me to be able to utilize the HDD (even more when I've already received the eSata cable and NOT the HDD).

Am I going to wait too long for it or is it something I could do? (like cancel my order or exchange it for something equivalent). The thing is that I needed this HDD for backups and it was a great deal, but now I'm getting annoyed by the situation.

Anyway, thanks for your reply and I hope to hear something soon.

Re: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex PRO Availability???

I see what you're saying.

The 1 TB version is in plan/production, but I am not sure when it is going to come out.

As for the 750, if I were in your place and were waiting for the order to be filled, I'd cancel it and get one from a seller where they actually have them in stock.

Really sorry about the delay.

Re: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex PRO Availability???

You know something... they have shipped the HDD =D!!!!!

Thanks for your reply's and for your assistance, but I knew (had a hunch) that maybe if I posted in the forums (after the case I posted), maybe there I would be heard and the problem would be solved. And well, thankfully it's all good now =D and now I'm just waiting for my HDD to arrive!

As I said, thanks for your assistance and hopefully everything is going to be fine now.

Best Regards!

Great!

Doesn't it always go that way?  You know, if your area is going through a drought, just wash your car. The rain will come for sure then!
