use GoFlex Portable with non-powered eSATA port

The official Segate eSATA Upgrade Cable requires a powered eSATA port to work, but my desktop PC only has a non-powered eSATA port. Can i use an USB-powered cable like this instead http://www.dealextreme.com/p/a-836-2-5-usb-esata-external-hdd-enclosure-46985 ?

Re: use GoFlex Portable with non-powered eSATA port

The drive model hasn't been tested with a cable of that type, only with a powered eSATA port.

You are welcome to try the cable you listed, but we can't support it and don't have any information.

What if I use a SATA entension cable like this instead? Is it mechanically possible to connect such cable without removing the hard disk from the enclosure?

Re: use GoFlex Portable with non-powered eSATA port

Ok, i was able to connect the drive using normal sata cables:

the power cable fits just fine, while the data cable needed some plastic cut in order to fit.
