3 TB Drive Suddenly Stopped

I just moved into a new house, and after trying to plug a Multi-Function Printer into the USB port of the GoFlex Home base, the drive suddenly, and unexpectantly, disconnects from the network.  I get about 2 minutes (sometimes a little more) per connection after turning the base off and then back on about 30 seconds later.  At that point, it's completely off the network; I cannot connect/re-connect to it from either a wired or wireless computer.  The network is still operating (can access internet), and the drive lights show steady green over steady white (indicating all connections are good).  I tried resetting the HD, but it didn't respond to a paperclip pushed into the opening (per Figure 1 of the manual).

Thankfully, I've been able to move all my files to another HD (USB style) with the intermittent connectivity.  (A lesson learned the hard way from two other NAS failures from a different company.)

I'd appreciate any ideas, help, recommendations.  Thanks!

Re: 3 TB Drive Suddenly Stopped

An additional note -- when I view the GoFlex within the Windows 7 "file explorer", it shows a networked printer attached via the USB.  However, I removed the printer.  When I view the "Remote Printer" in Windows 7, I'm given the option to 'Delete the printer'; however, the printer does not disappear even after a re-boot of the drive (by turning it off and then back on again).  Thanks for the help!
