How can I find out the IP-Address of my GoFlex Home?
My computer can't connect to it. Therefor I must open the ports of my router (when I make the port forwarding test all ports are blocked).
To open the ports i must type in for which ip-address. But I don't know it of my nework storage.

If you are connected via LAN with your router, go to http://www.seagateshare.com and log in with your credentials. Once you are authenticated and logged in, the URL you see in the address bar should be the IP Address of your GoFlex Home.

But I can't create an account till i am connected to my goflex. Therefore I can't log in to the GoFlex Home Network Storage System.
Usually the next step after connecting is to create an account.
Or is there a way to log in (and create an account) before i am connected?
I installed my goflex home correctly. The green and the white lights are glowing constant.
My problem is still, that I can't open the ports, because I don't know for which IP-address.

Depending on what router you have, you can check what IP is assigned to your GoFlex Home in your router's homepage (Should be either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1). After you have logged in, look around the menus for a table that lists all the devices connected to your router. I can't help you in this step because the menus are very dependant on what model your router is. However once you have found the table that lists all the devices connected to your router, it should say GoFlex_Home for the device name and state its IP Address.
An easier way is to just install via the CD. Just follow the on screen instructions and it will allow you to create an account without knowing the IP Address.

You should use an IP scanner. It is a easy piece of software to figure out, and it will show you all of the devices on your local network. I use http://www.softperfect.com/products/networkscanner

Try using the GoFlex installer CD. On the setup page (1, 2, 3 ...) at the bottom, click the "More" button, then "Reset". Nothing happens yet when you do that, except it shows a page where you actually do the reset and discover the IP number you're looking for. Back out of the window if you don't intend to reset...

Most home routers will be dynamically assigning the IP address unless you have set up static IPs.
So the IP address will move every time things are powered down and back up.

You might want to scan for IPs on your network to see which one replies to the ping. This article might be useful to you if you are using Windows: http://www.rangify.com/how-to-find-all-openused-ip
Additionally, you can also use Angry IP Scanner application. Just my 2 cents. Been there, done that.

You can fetch IP address of GoFlex Home from ip-details.com using which you can open the ports of your router. You can also get additional information including ISP,country, global latitude & longitude coordinates of the domain name
