Go Flex Home 2TB Drive Failure.

My 2tb drive has been working great.  It is connected to a Netgear Router.  I was working on my computer when it started to beep every 3 seconds or so.  When i checked The LEDS lights.  The Top one was Solid green, But the bottom one was OFF.

I checked my dashboard and it said "The Storage Unit is not connected to the device"  I can see the drives in Windows 7Computer but it states folder empty.  Under the network option it just says GoFlex Home:UPNP-AV.

I don't know what happened, nothing changed on my computer that would have caused this.  Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Re: Go Flex Home 2TB Drive Failure.

I think its a harddrive issue, give Seagate a phone and tell them.

How old in the drive? I hopw you have a back up.

Re: Go Flex Home 2TB Drive Failure.

The drive is maybe a year, i check the warrenty is still good.  And no, The drive was my backup drive for my Computer.  I put an email into them to see.  I don't get it though, nothing changed at all with the drive, noone moved it, no wires were changed.  Nothing.

Re: Go Flex Home 2TB Drive Failure.

Call them,

Or... buy another Seagate unit, transfer the data over to the new drive, and return the older drive. Fast!

could transfer the data, but it is acting like there is no data there.  The bottom LED isn't even lit.  It says there is connection but the Drive isn't mounting.

Re: Go Flex Home 2TB Drive Failure.

Just got off the phone with tech support.  New Drive will be here in 3-5 days, then sending my old one back.  Mechincal failure with the armature that scans across the drive.  It is scrapping the drive.  Covered under warrenty.

I find it refreshing that a company acaully said it was there equipments fault.  I will be recommending Seagate to my friends due to customer service.

Issue Resovled.

Re: Go Flex Home 2TB Drive Failure.

When the new one comes in, you can jsut plug the new hard drive on the base unit, and go... setup.
