Go Flex Home ruunung when no PCs Operational

I have a 1tb Go Flex Home network hard drive connected to a Virgin Media Netgear Superhub.

My system is protected by Norton Security. I don't always shut down the drive as up to four PCs on home network can access it. I have noticed from time to time that when no PCs are on and even on occassion first thing in the morning when I get up, that the drive is sometimes running. N.B. This was also the case when I used a BT home HUB 2.0. Why should it be ruuning?

Try re-booting the Goflex Home. There is a service that runs on the GFH that controls the drive spin down and maybe it has stopped.

You can adjust the spin-down settings, but you should not need to
