mine is new, and I click the update button and it says it is up to date already. However the firmware build on my goflex is:
2.6:2.0.0.381:1.2.340
So how can I get the 2.6:2.0.0.382:1.2.340 firmware??????????

``haven't lost connectivity since''That's a good thing. That's a really good thing. I basically put mine on a shelf shortly after getting it because it kept knocking out my router. So time to give it a go again....

Your router might not support UPnP.
UPnP can be disable in the drive settings, or you upgrade to a newer router model to get this to work.

My drive shows firmware 2.5.3.2.0.0.367.1.2.331
When I check on the dashboard it tells me new formware is available.
I download the update (hbs-6076.upd
Click the Apply Button
Tells me it is applying updates
Then Software Update Failure.
Tried everything but same occurs everytime
Any ideas?

I know it's been a while, but just FYI my router is/was a Netgear WNR3500 (Linux OS). That ought to have been "recent enough" and ought not to have been knocked down by UPNP anyway. I'm back again because I now must use the device and I need to know which power supply is the right one. Usually, devices have their requirements printed on a label, but not this GoFlex Home thing. ![]()

I just set mine up (last night).
I understand the power adapter problem and started labeling them (all), several years ago.
The specs on mine are:
- Input: 100-240 V. / 50-60 Hz./ 0.65 Amp. Max./
- output: 12 V (w/dc symbols) / 2A
- Plug/Socket = negative outer shield/ positive inner pin/.
Mine was manufactured by: Asian Power Devices (APD), June 2011.
= Model #: WA-24E12FU
Hope this helps.

Hi.
I'm very new on this forum.
I was trying to downgrade the firmware of my GoFlex, which was purchased with 2.6 already in. And I did not succeed. I always see that vers. 2.6 is running, even after installing 2.5.3 according to seagate procedure.
Is there any workaround for that? I want to enable Transmission and actually I cannot.
Thanks!

It's unfortunate that us users have to resort to hacking Transmission onto our GoFlex Home devices when it was a standard feature before. I used it each week to legally download missed TV shows that air each week, as in Canada, and maybe other places too, it is legal to do this. Now what good is the device for? The feature I bought it for was taken away, kinda like how Sony took away OtherOS and got sued over in Europe for false advertising a feature that was removed after customers purchased the product. Seagate, do something please.
Confirmed that on firmware 2.5, changing one line of code in the /etc/features.conf file activated Transmission torrents from our web login. Now it breaks our web login using firmware 2.6, and does not play nice until rebooting. Does anyone know how to downgrade it to 2.5? Or enable torrents on 2.6? Please share with us; I'll bake you cookies.
EDIT: I got Transmission back up and running!
What you have to do is follow the upgrade instructions, but instead of using the 2.6 firmware you use the 2.5 one, located here:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/downloads-axentra-com/seag
MIRROR: http://kirashi.ca/stuff/goflex_2_5_firmware.zip [uploading later tonight]
After you reflash it to 2.5, it will need to be reset back up with the EXACT same usernames and passwords as before so it can match up to the files on the Hard Drive. Then you can follow this guide to enable Transmission:
http://kjohna.wordpress.com/2011/11/28/torrent-dow
These instructions will reflash your GoFlex Home to factory, requiring you to re-configure the device.

I would simply like to clarify that although the Transmission(Torrent) packages were deployed with the previous firmware, this was never a standard or pro feature. We never allowed Transmission services to be enabled. You must have done so by ssh'ing to your GoFlex Home and manually tweaking some settings and starting the service, most likely with the help of openstora.com
Others wanting to do this don't need to resort to the old 2.5 firmware. All the information you need to get it running on the latest firmware is available on openstora.com.

Roby!
