I once had my GoFlex home connected and working properly. I had disconnected it from the router for awhile and now when I connect it to the router I can no longer access any web pages because the only page the browser will show is one where I have to log into the GoFlex Home Home Server. Even if I log in, it does not allow me to access another web page, but only takes me to Seagate Share.
Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks

It sounds like port forwarding is messed up on your router. Any http requests are being directed to the Goflex web server.
Port forwarding should send external requests on port 80 to the Goflex home IP on your LAN, but it seems that internal LAN requests are being sent there too.
What happens when the Goflex home is disconnected?

AZ, did you ever receive an answer? I'm having the same problem you're having. Thanks.

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7. Since then I have not been able to reconnect with my GoFlex Home WiFi drive. Since the Dashboard software did not find it either, I tried the instructions for "GoFlex Home - Installing Without Dashboard." But after inputting the address I got a logon screen rather than the license agreement. I'm afraid if I setup the GoFlex Home with a username and password previously that I do not recall what it is. What can I do now? It would seem that somehow I need to reset that without loosing data on the GoFlex Home. Ideas? Thanks!

I am having trouble connecting to my GFH through ftp on port 21. I have access to ftp in LAN but when I try to connecte remotely via ftp it gives the following error:
btexthdd.seagateshare.com isn't responding on port 21 (ftp).
It seems like port 21 is closed on the server or it is down. anyonw having the same issue, can an admin confirm this?

Day before yesterday, DLNA service stopped working and I tried all possible solution to make it work. Finally, I have reflashed it yesterday and from that point I can't activate my GFH.
Can any one tell me, Is there any problem with central server? I am stuck on first activation screen, same error message "cannot connect to seagateshare.com to register your device."

I'd like to start with the basics for troubleshooting your issue:
1. Are you able to access www.seagateshare.com when the drive is directly connected to your computer, without a router?
2. What do the LED's on the front of the drive look like?
3. Have you tried resetting the device?

I tried with another router but it's the same thing.

Is there a tutorial available for how to use the Goflex Satellite?
I can't seem to find video files that I can play on my computer, so I haven't even tried to copy them to the Goflex.
I've gone to old movie and public domain websites, but can't seem to find a file format that will play on Windows Media Player.
I'm afraid to try loading anything On to the Goflex until I know I can find some type of video format that works.
I have a Nook HD + tablet with wi--fi and an HDMI connector, so I'm hoping to be able to load old movies, TV shows, etc. On to the goflex and then use the Nook to get them on my TV at a vacation home that doesn't have computer/wifi access.
Anyone have any suggestions? The Goflex guide doesn't help much.
