So no coverage to resolve lack of options for restarting DLNA server and DLNA folders not updating then! (file list) :smileysad:

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

Is there a temporarily workaround to rescan the minidlna-database?

An update of shared/unshared media folders on GHM is essential to keep data on UPnP-AV devices consistent!

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

Use a terminal program to access to your GFH command line, (ex PuTTY)

define your GFH IP for the connection,

login in as: yourgoflexusername_hipserv2_seagateplug_XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

(XXXX stands for the serial no under the GFH)

password is the password you defined.

then follow these commands,

/etc/init.d/minidlna.init stop
/usr/sbin/minidlna -d -f /etc/miniupnpd/minidlna.conf -R

"when you know it looks finished, stop the process with ctrl+c"

/etc/init.d/minidlna.init start

Tada, now your media database is refreshed and up to date...

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

Im trying to set up my goflex home.

Its connected via ethernet hub to my mac airport. Connection to internet is excellent.

My computer cannot find the Goflex through the home install and when I try typing in goflex home into my browser, it just goes to your web page.

I have registered this on your facebook page aswell, but have seen that some of the questions posted there have not been responded to for over 6 hours!

Not good

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

viespiel - could you confirm for me that you've tried the troubleshooter that was posted on here?

If you have, also let me know what OS you're working with.

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

Well, I tried to rebuild it and I've found a few issues:

-bash-3.2$ sudo -E -s

Password:audit_log_user_command(): Connection refused

bash-3.2# /etc/init.d/minidlna.init stop

Stopping MiniDlna MediaServer ...

bash-3.2# /usr/sbin/minidlna -d -f /etc/miniupnpd/minidlna.conf -R

rm: cannot remove directory `/tmp/minidlna/art_cache/home/0common/DATA/mp3/Richard Cheese/(2007) Dick At Nite': Directory not empty

[2011/07/29 07:06:08] minidlna.c:631: error: MiniDLNA is already running. EXITING.

Also, for some reason I'm not beeing able to remove some other files.

What can I do?

Thanks.

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

My problem sounds the same as a couple of posts on this thread.

Im using a macbook air (no CD drive) so tried setting up through browsers, (safari, chrome) neither will connect to the goflex home 2TB drive.

I have connected the goflex home to the router, green and white light are constant. My Mac is connected to the Network with no problems, internet working fine.

Tried pinging it using various 192.168.1 addresses, still nothing.

My OS is Lion

i have spent hours searching threads on this forum trying to find a troubleshoot (read most of them, tried a few things) but darn thing just wont connect.

When i open up my Macintosh HD it detects the goflex being on the network, but when i try and access it that way it says connection failed.

PLEASE HELP, I HAVE WASTED HOURS ON THIS

Regards, Chris
