Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

I cant access my goflex home.

I followed the instructions to install and when I try to drag and drop anything multiple or single items I get one of the two following messages:

that the item is no longer located on my hard drive

or it will say about the goflex home " This is no longer located in <%3NULL:smileysurprised:p Text>. Verify the item's location and try again."

What am I doing wrong?

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

Hello,

I'm a newbie here.  I'm trying to use my Panasonic Vierra TCP42X3 DLNA drive.  But, I can't see half of my folders on the screen for my GoFlex Home network drive.  I can see the folders on my windows 7 computer.

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

I'm not able to access either GoFlex Home Public or GoFlex Home External after doing a rest to factory setting. However, here is the twist of all thing. I'm able to access GoFlex Home Personal without any issuses.

I have tried this on 4 different computer with each a different operating system

Operating Systems; Windows 2003 Server; Windows 2000 Server; Windows XP (SP3); Windows 7 (SP1) Pro.

I can see the folders through the web interface, so they are there. I have disconnected and remove teh drive and plug it into my GoFlex USB dock. The GoFlex Home NAS is a 1TB. I have the lastest Firmware installed. I have attached a snapshot with the information about my GoFlex Home

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

I bought a goflex home so that I could have my laptops wirelessly do backup at anytime through out the house and I also want to be able to access it over the internet with pogoplug software. I then bought a pogoplug but can't get it to read my goflex home. I opened up a TT with pogoplug and got no solution for this. So I looked around on the internet and found out that a goflex net media runs pogoplug software. I bought that and connected it to my goflex home and that will not read it either. Can anyone give me a hint to what I need to do to get these to work.

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

Just bought the 3 TB version.  Dashboard could not detect the drive.  Didn't matter, I followed the instructions in FAQ and mapped the drive without the Dashboard software.  As far as I can tell, the unit is functioning just fine.  Transferred 200 GB of files over Gigabit Ethernet at a rate about 27 MBytes/sec.  However the top light in the front looks solid amber to me instead of green (bottom light is solid white/blue).  Any explanation?  Thanks.

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

I have a Goflex Home 2T for about 1 1/2 months. It is connected to my Linksys E2500 router to share media files wirelessly to other computers and stream videos to my TV using WD TV Live. I setup the Goflex Home using my Acer Netbook with Windows XP. I installed Seagate Dashborad and it all worked neatly for the first 3 weeks. Suddenly, it started to drop the connection to my Network. To reconnect I have to turn off/on the drive, then I'll have like around 2 minutes to browse the files with my computer, but then, it disconnects. I even connected the drive directly to my Netbook using an ethernet cable and was able to see the files, but the same disconnect problem appeared. I have tried assigning its own IP address and reserving it in the router setup interface (DHCP). In addition, I disabled UPnP configuration in the drive. That is following some recomendation from people having the same problem in other forum communities.

Something tells me that the problem is with the disk, not in the network. When the drive drops its connection, the wireless connection remain in the other computers, but my WD TV Live freezes, since the drive is no longer available in the network. Is there a possibility that the Goflex Home scans all the files in the background and if it finds a corrupt file or registry it freezes and drop the connection? I am just guessing here.

Please, some help?!

Thanks in advanced!

Re: GoFlex Home Troubleshooter now live!

Hi there,

firstly I have looked at the troubleshooter and my problem isn't listed there.  I have a GoFlex Home Network Storage System (external harddrive (2TB)) connected to our network.  I am trying to setup my backups for a Windows 2003 Server using Symantec Backup Exec 10d which previously I had running with tape drives and more recently with a Targa 500GB external harddrive.  The problem is that I can't see the drive letter for the Seagate harddrive from Symantec Backup Exec.  I can see the drive letter (V) from anywhere else in Windows but I can't see it from within Symantec Backup Exec.  Do you know what the problem might be?

Regards

Oliver
