Hi all,
I've searched extensively for an answer to my problem, but have not found it. I sure hope someone here can help...
Yesterday I updated the software for my GoFlex Home through the browser interface, but the update failed. It threw an error saying the update failed, and after that the shoot hit the fan. I could no longer load the webinterface, located at the IP address assigned to my GFH by my router. I can ping to it (10.0.0.10), and my router sees the device, but that's pretty much it.
Before, both Windows, Linux and Mac OS X recognized the drive as GoFlex Home, but now only 'axentraserver' appears when searching the network, and no computer is able to actually connect to it. A laser printer attached to the USB port is also suddenly inaccessible.
I've tried resetting the device to factory settings (using the Reset Tool from the install cd and with a paperclip), but every time after restart the green light on the front keeps on flashing. I've waited for hours, but it never stops flashing, and the light beneath it never comes up.
According to this post it might be a hardware problem, and I've also seen posts telling me that it might be a power problem, but seeing that the problem occured after trying to update the software, I'm not sure about those.
Any suggestions anyone? There is no important data on the disc, so a complete reset/reformat/reinstall is no problem... I just want the thing to work again.
Thanks,
Jeroen

This should restore your GoFlex Home.

Hi Roby,
Thanks for your help so far. I'm afraid I'm still stuck. I followed the factory reset steps you suggested, but I'm not sure what to do next to get my device working again.
After the last step (removing the USB stick) the green light starts blinking (which according to the manual indicates starting up), but it never stops (waited ~1 hour). Leaving me, essentialy, where I was before.
Not sure if it is of any importance, but the reset steps told me to remove the harddisk before the actual reset, but I'm not sure when to put it back again. Tried to put ik back in with the green light flashing, but it doesn't seem to change anything. Turning the device off and on again doesn't seem to change anything either.
On my network still no GoFlex appears, just the 'axentraserver' to which I cannot connect (it has an ip address).
Any more ideas?
Jeroen
PS: one thing caught my attention while performing the reset... not sure if it really means anything: the page says "Release the reset pin and wait for the device to complete booting and obtains a steady yellow light". After releasing the reset pin, the yellow light becomes steady after a while, but the white light is also blinking and continues to do so.

Robyb,
I also thought my 2TB was 'bricked'. From the my webportal to my drive, I tried the software update, halfway through it failed and then the green light blinked forever no mater how many time I rebooted my computer or GFH, re-installed the interface software and/or reset the GFH controller cradle.I had about 500GB of files on it and I was scared to death it was gone. I knew I probably could remove the drive from the GFH and install it as an internal in my mid-tower but I like that we all can share this drive throughout my network.
When the Dashboard appeared to be connecting, It saw all the partions but they were 211MB each with about 46MB in them. But actually, they were all empty except another empty directory called 'Timeshare' in Backups. Must admit, I was freaking......I tried the h/w reset w/ a paper clip, now I had nothing.
Then I came across your help procedure. D/L'd the new firmware (2.6), followed your instructions. Power off the controller, re-installed the disk drive, powered it back on, waited 4 minutes and first the blue light went solid while the green was still blinking and I thought 'rut roo', but then the green went solid also..yes!
(att - thought a lil' prayer was in order)
