Hello.
Wondering if anybody has any suggestions. I have a brand new GoFlex Net, connected by ethernet to an Airport Extreme. GoFlex Net can't make the initial connection to Pogoplug.
DHCP is enabled on the router. I don't think UDP traffic is filtered by the Airport, but I'm not positive. I don't really know how to confirm. The Airport Extreme will let you map ports (I've successfully set this up for torrenting), but ports have to be mapped to specific device addresses (10.0.1.x). When GoFlex Net is plugged in, and I querry the Airport Extreme logs (it will show you a list of DHCP clients), the GoFlex has not been assigned an IP Address. Other devices are assigned addresses dynamically. I'm not sure why GoFlex Net is ignored.
Has anyone run into a similar problem?
Thanks.

OK, I sorted this out with some help from the Pogoplugged forums.
The problem was not DHCP, or a firewall. It was the faulty ethernet cable that shipped with the GoFlex Net. I swapped it out for a known working cable and presto, green light!
Now if I can just figure out how to use this as a NAS device without it broadcasting the contents of my drives to the internet ...

You should have a look at http://www.openstora.com/wiki/ where different procedures to get more from your GoFlex Home are described.

Thanks for the Info, I swaped my cable out for a Known Good Working Cable and the Amber light went away, Now My Lights are Back to Green-Top and Blue-Bottom Light.

@RJGoodhouse
Thats a GoFlex Home, the GoFlex Net only has a single light, and the meter 4-level light bars x2 for each of the 2 possible drives
