GoFlex Satellite unstable wifi link

Have just purchased 2 Satellite drives expressly for use with iPAD. iPad 2 will either not join network or if it does it drops the connection as soon as the app tries to sync data. Have done firmware update and followed all guidance. Seagate support contacted but no response whatsoever. Before I return these drives for a refund does anyone know if there are any advanced settings that make a stable wifi connection. Drive is right next to devices. Strangely it does seem to work with an iPhone 4s. If no response from Seagate I will sadly return these drives that have so much potential.
