Goflex_home does show in the linkysys client table.
I tried typing NET USE Z: "\\192.168.1.114\GoFlex Home Public" password /user:admin but that still didn't work.
I hunted down the possible causes of the "System error 67 has occurred" message. Here is what I found, and tried (in this order), but that didn't result in any kind of fix for me. I'm still getting that "System error 67 has occurred" message.

And changing the workgroup? rebooting Router, GFH, PC?
There is something weird. If you can log in to 192.168.1.114 it means the GFH is active on your network, but I think it is something in your Network setup on your local PC that is causing trouble

Changing the workgroup to "WORKGROUP", which matches my computer's workgroup name, doesn't work.
Rebooted the router, GFH, and the PC. I even pulled all cables from the router, including power, and waited 60 seconds and then plugged each network cable in one by one until they had full connectivity each. Doesn't work.
Enabled NetBIOS. Not working.
Still stuck with the error 67 thing.
I think you're right about the local PC. It is running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I just tried NET USE on a laptop from my job that is running Win 7 Pro and is connected via WiFi to this network. The drive mapped with no problems.
Guess I need to dig around more to find out what about my particular install of Win 7 Ultimate is choking things. The LAST thing I need right now is to "reinstall windows" just to get my backup drive working. Kinda defeats the purpose of trying to protect my data from loss. Gah!

You could try uninstalling and re-installing your network adapter drivers

Ignore the net use command for now and just click Start -> Run and type \\192.168.1.114 . What happens? What's the error? Have you tried running a selfcheck?
Are you able to access any other computer on your network over Samba(explorer)?

Is your GoFlex Home running firmware 2.7.1?
You can also put files on your GoFlex Home through the web interface by going into one of the main 3 sources and clicking the Upload button. Alternatively use your 30day free premium trial(enable from Preferences) and install HipServ Nomad on your computer. It will allow you to drag and drop files from your desktop to your GoFlex Home through a native application.

With the reset, the IP address for GFH is now 192.168.1.105. When I click Start --> Run and type \\192.168.1.105 I get the error message
Windows cannot access \\192.168.1.105
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.
Error code: 0x80070043
The network name cannot be found.
What's a selfcheck?
I'm not able to access other computers. I can only see them in Explorer, but clicking into them produces the error above.
GFH is running firmware 2.7.1 as far as I know. I can't see where to look up the version number in the browser interface, but when i go to Administration > Software Updates, it says "your software is up to date".
I can definitely upload one file at a time via the browser and the Upload button, but that's not a solution for backing up my entire filesystem when compared to just dragging and dropping to a drive letter.
I've just now activated my trial and downloaded HipServ Nomad. It tells me that "This application is a premium feature. You must buy premium to use this application." and prompts me with a "Buy Now" button. I thought that the trial would extend to this, but maybe it doesn't?
Whole lotta steps here to get this working. I guess I might be hoping too much for the GoFlex app to do some exception handling and let me know what services and all it needs running to map the drives?

I found a hotfix that potentially would fix my apparent SMB networking issue that seems to be at the heart of this for this machine.
Except, when I run the file, it just says the hotfix isn't applicable to my computer.

Is home networking just impossible on Windows 7 Ultimate 64? If so, Seagate ought to label their NAS devices accordingly.

I run win 7 64bit and don't have any trouble. I think there's a problem with your PC. I recommend uninstalling and re-installing your network adapter.
Can you borrow a usb wireless adapter to see if the problem is with your NIC or windows?
I don't think it is worth transferring files through web interfaces or 3rd party apps if you can't get it working with windows

HipServ Nomad will work with the free trial, there may simply have been a delay between enabling the trial and trying Nomad right away.
Secondly, the fact that you can't connect via Explorer to another computer isn't very reassuring. Have you created a HomeGroup in your Windows Networking preferences? If you did, try turning it off.
Is your network set to "public"? If so, set it to "home".
As for selfcheck (even if I doubt the problem is on the GFH side), you have to go to the link I gave you that has /selfcheck in it and follow the instructions. You can find your product key by clicking the About link at the bottom left of your web interface.

I've been working on this so long, I didn't even notice the selfcheck link. Now that I've clicked it, it's asking for my product key. I've looked everywhere: on the CD sleve, the CD itself, the GoFlex drive, etc. and can't find the product key beginning with PG. I know I saw it when I first installed the software, so I guess I'll have to do a reset and reinstall to make note of it. The memeo support site has a section in the help docs that emails your product key, but it just sent me "trial" as the key. Putting that in didn't work.
Nomad HipServ is now working. It's just like the web interface to the drive, only as a standalone software. So, that doesn't help fix the problem of not being able to map the drives, but at least I can run a backup through dragging and dropping my source folders and files into the target directory on the drive.
I tried leaving the homegroup but Windows says I can't: "Windows couldn't remove your computer from the homegroup"
Next I'm going to try an earlier suggestion to reinstall the network adapter/driver. A bit drastic, but at this point I'll try anything short of reinstalling windows. Not being able to map to this drive is becoming a personal matter of principal to solve for me! ![]()
