Hi all,

So I have a GoFlex Home 2TB, I transfered all my movies/Tv Show/Music whitin my user's folder. I wanted to be able to play my music from it on my Nexus 7 tablet using VLC.

I can see a folder called "GoFlexMedia" which have five sub folder (Doc - Music - Other - Photo - Video) however those folder are empty.

But I can't find those folders from either the Samba connection to my Linux pc nor through the browser connection (Share - Seagate Share - Preferences)

How to change that?

VLC could be any one of a bunch of different apps from different developers, so can't help with that.

For UPnP streaming you have to tick "Share with media devices" in folder view of Seagate share.

For filesystem browsing samba works fine. I use FileManagerHD on my tablet

.

For UPnP I use Movie Browser UPnP for Tablet, and Media House UPnP/DLNA browser, but all UPnP apps work.

No problem

Note: If you have a large number of files stored on GoFlex Home, it will take awhile for the
files to be indexed and viewable from your media player. If you are unable to see the
shared folders on your media device, see “Common Problems and Solutions” on
page 75.

The option is grey out - which means it is shared already but I tried couple of UPnP app on my tablet and none detect any files (oviously apart from when connection through samba)

Is there an option to activate it?

If it's greyed out its because a folder above in the hiarchy is shared.  Try unsharing and re-sharing, or unsharing the top level folder and sharing the folder below only.

I unshared the upper folder, and then it work for a song, but I have my music in one folder call "music" then each artist/band have a folder then within this folder another folder named with the name of the album and then inside those .MP3 or whatever format.

Music => artist name => album name => files

So would that be the issue? Would it be better to have All those files in one big folder?
