Please tell me there is a way to add shares w huge complex directory/folder structures with single click (WITHOUT USING PUBLIC PARTITION!)
There is NO WAY Seagate was dumb enough to force users to manually add EACH parent folder of the content you want shared, right?
Want to add A Directory/Folder AND ALL SUBFOLDERS WITH CONTENTS of it (Files or additional sub subfolders) WITH SINGLE CLICK or TWO!!!
So far can't get anything to share unless MANUALLY Click ADD TO EACH and EVERY PARENT FOLDER of files I want shared - that is enough to make me return this HDD alone!
What am I doing wrong or how to add shares most efficiently (again WITHOUT USING PUBLIC '(virtual) PARTITION'????
=======
ALSO, where do you get ftp connection info/settings? (Remote/online friend access)
Thanks,
Jason

Hi coldengrey,
-Adding folders to albums is not recursive.
-Your ftp connection settings are your goflexhome name/username/password... ftp://username
assword@goflexhomename.seagateshare.com .

thanks roby
any chance seagate might update software to enable an option for recursive folder shares? that's a horrible thing that pretty much screws me and i'm sure many others, to at least not have recursive option is crazy!

Thanks for your participation in the our forums so far. Please remember that this is an online community where many of the responses come from other users, such as yourself.
The forum is not a replacement for Customer Service. Seagate representative do from time to time come to lend a hand answering posts but not necessarily on a continual or frequent basis. If you have immediate needs, your best bet is to contact Customer Service directly whether by phone, email, or chat.
Thanks.

For the time being, everytime I have new photos to share, I add a new directory under 'In the Year 2011' and share a new folder.
What I have found is, I can send a URL to people, and it list all the shared folders, which is similar to being in the root directory with one level of subdirectory....
Hope that helps you.

OK, so I'm gathering from this thread that there is no way to create a share using subfolders? My MP3 collection consists of over 4,000 albums, each in it's own subfolder.
So, does anyone know how I will be able to create a share that multiple multimedia devices will be able to access?

What I did, placed all the files I want shared, in the public area of the GoFLex Home and and DLNA device and read the file.

I'm having the same issue here. There has got to be a way to share content in subfolders. Otherwise how can anyone realistically share music organized by artist and album?
