Hi, I recently bought the GoFlex Home drive and set it up on my network. Everything seems to be working fine. I also am able to connect via the iphone and android apps and see the files.
My only surprise was that there seems to be no way to share a picture you are seeing on the phone. This is true for both android and iphone. Am I missing something? It seems that you can browse the files on the iphone and android, but if you want to email or share them, there is no way to do that.
If this is indeed the case, is there a workaround to this?
I love the drive otherwise, but sadly, one of the main reasons we bought was because we wanted the ability to share pictures and files off the iphone, android apps.
Please advise if I am missing something, or if there is a workaround to this, thanks.

Yes I think you are missing something. On my Android using the Hipserv app if I open a picture and then tap the app menu I get 3 options, Search, Share or Logout.
If I select share then I get a whole list of options including email, gmail, Flickr, Picasa.
I expect the iphone app and the Goflex Access app have similar options, but I don't use them.
cheers
update: I loaded the Seagate Goflex Access app for Android and I was also surprised that the share option is missing!
Use the Hipserv app instead.

Hipserv on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hipserv-viewer-for-
I don't understand why Seagate would take the app from Axentra and ruin it.

And to be honest I hadn't actually tried the share from the app before. I just tried it out and it didn't work!
Flickr says the picture isn't a picture. Picasa reports 100% upload and then 'service failed' and gmail send the email but the attachment doesn't come with it.

Further checking indicates it is just losing the file type so apps can't handle it.
I shared a file on my hipserv with bluetooth and got a file f114b8c3dd13814f8a354b422996ea40 added a .jpg to the end and it's fine.
Occasionally robyb from Axentra visits these forums, but I'll post this on the Axentra forum.

Posted on the Axentra forum, but just dust and cobwebs there. Sent an email to support@Axentra.com but no response.
Hi robyb, is there anyone besides you at Axentra support? Welcome back, by the way.

Hey guys,
We're really busy here at Axentra, but we did get an e-mail in regards to this issue(must have forgot to reply saying we've added bugs in our bug tracker, sorry!). We're not actively updating Android right now, but we're working on HipPlay for the iPhone. The next update for HipPlay will include HipServ network device compatibility, so if you're looking for an iPhone app to share your DropBox, Facebook, Flickr, SugarSync(coming) and HipServ files, download HipPlay now and keep an eye out for the update to come in a few weeks! Your feedback is very much welcome on the HipPlay app!
As for the Android app... it will come after iPhone. I don't think further efforts will be put in the HipServ app(not extensive modifications anyways) because HipPlay will be replacing it on Android as well, with a much better feature set!
Cheers,
Roby!
