I set up my FreeAgent GoFlex Home network hard drive as in the instructions and then installed and configured the software on my windows 7 64-bit PC OK. I was able to access my shares on the network hard drive for about 3 days/reboots and then the software stopped mounting my shares as X:, Y:, and Z:. Subsequently when I tried launching Seagate Dashboard, it said it could not connect to service because it wasn't running. However, I was still able to access my shares uisng FTP OK.
Eventually the software said it wanted to install a newer version, so I let it. This newer version had the same problems.
I decided to uninstall the software, so I could re-install from the CD. After uninstalling, I noticed that all of the program files were still in C:\Program Files (x86)\Seagate, so I deleted this directory.
I then inserted the CD to begin reinstalling. Now when I do that it says "A more recent version of Seagate Dashboard has been detected on your computer. The installation of the older version will be cancelled" so I am unable to reinstall this software.
Can someone please give me a hint about what to do.

I don't know if this is the help you were looking for, that's why I thought I should let someone else respond, but I had similar problems with the dashboard software when I first got my GFH.
My solution was just to un-install it and not use it. I didn't have problems un-installing, did you do that through windows add/remove programs?
I can do everything in Windows so I don't need the dashboard. Maybe if you want to use Memeo Instant backup you need the dashboard, I'm not sure as I found that to be a pain as well.
When is Seagate going to respond to this problem report? Have a look through these forums and draw your own conclusions, but my guess is just after never.
