Random Disconnects

Apologies if this has been asked before. I searched and didn't find my answer.

I am connecting to the drive just fine most of the time, but periodically, my computer disconnects to the drive and trying to use the dashboard to access them no longer works. It is as if the drive just fell off the network. Power cycling the drive solves the issue and it then works for some indefinite period of time before seemingly randomly dropping off the network again. When it drops off the network, the lights on the bezel still indicate normal functionality. Is this something that has been reported/solved before?

Thanks!

Re: Random Disconnects

Same issue here.

I had the hard drive set up and installed just fine, but now it seems to 'disconnect' after about 20 minutes of non-use. Turning the network hard drive on and off, then waiting 5 minutes fixes the issue, but only temporarily.

Anyone figure this out?

Re: Random Disconnects

I have the same issue, and no one has replied to any of my posts, nor has Seagate responded. I have tried many different things to fix it, and seen other posts that relate to this, but no resolutions.

Re: Random Disconnects

I have three 3TB drive on line.

I also have 3 Western Digital Live TV Streaming units and one WD Live TV hub.

The lastest firmware update on the WD Live TV device cuased the Seagate drive to go off line..

Very frustrating it was trying to view movies etc, and then nothing... even pictures, after 20 ot so pictures the drives where gones.

Anyways, rolled back the firmware in the WD devices, and I'm all good again.

so, figure that...

My suggestion would be to disconnect another other device on the home network and see if the problem persists.
