I take back my comment. It's still not working. Well, I should say that I can't get ComputersBackup to be working again.

Not working even after upgrade. I did a reformat, reflash, re-upgrade firmware, restart, restart computer, ran entire setup process over and over again. Still not working.

I updated mine also... Unfortunately it's still giving the same error!
Updating makes no sense at all... I'm affraid that Seagate has to look again at the update, cause it's still isn't working.

This is what I am still getting when I try to back up to ComputersBackup in Time Machine:
"The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features."
My software version is the newest 2.5.3.
I have reset everything, deleted all my previous backups from before this mess started, wiped the drive and basically started over with a blank drive. Went through all the setup again, and this is still the same error as before.

Sounds a lot like Seagate in the rush of launching the update and shutting us up already, forgot to test and see if it actually works...and surprise...it still doesn't. Great boat anchor Seagate! No need for a kensington cable now. Thanks ![]()

I updated but still not working!!
Did you really tested it before released it?
Seagate, please, DO SOMETHING that really works!

Dear Seagate,
Do you know there's a thing called TESTING before any important release?
You wasted us so much time and effort to try your stupid update which doesn't work for anyone!
So please fire that release manager and your product manager and whoever is testing the software for you before the next release.

To confirm, you launched Time Machine, clicked on "Select Disk", chose "GoFlex Home Timemachine" entered your GoFlex Home username/password when promted and waited for the countdown before the backup starts? What's the exact error message you currently receive?
Thanks,
Roby!

Yes, I did all of this. The one thing that I had not done was to do the pin reset that was posted this morning, so I did that, restarted everything, and now it IS backing up, but what happened to ComputersBackup? The only thing available for me to use as the backup disk is "GoFlex Home Backup". I will admit that all of the server names and folders confuses me quite a bit.
I also did the "Rename your GoFlex Home Service" fix, and it did change my home server names, but I *think* this may be causing the problems I am having with connecting to the "ATM" server where I was able to back up using ComputersBackup. Not sure, but I can't connect to the "ATM" server anymore and I think this may be why. Can you tell me how to change the name back to the original "GoFlex_atm"?
Thanks for your help.

Pin reset what now ?!
Look...here's the thing - I insert the CD that came with the goflex home, I run the "configure to work with time machine" option, I wait for it to ask me the password for the GOFLEX_HOME_ATM ComputersBackup username, i insert the password, I select the GOFLEX_HOME_ATM ComputersBackup$ drive from the list, I wait for the countdown and then I get the same old "this network drive doesn't support AFP.
I PAID MONEY FOR THIS BOAT ANCHOR THAT THIS DRIVE IS NOW! MAKE IT WORK OR TELL ME IN PLAIN ENGLISH HOW TO FIX IT MYSELF!!! PLEASE!
I'm sick of friggin waiting. Everytime someone asks you guys something serious, they get NO answer whatsoever! All I want to do is backup my MacBooks for Christ sake!!
