USB - No files?

I have two problems:

1. I connect a standard 2.0 usb drive that is loaded with files to the goflex usb port, I can see the drive on the network, but the it list as empty?

2. I can't figure out how to access my goflex drive from outside my home network?

Thanks

Re: USB - No files?

1. Try rebooting the GFH

2. Easiest way is with the Goflex Access app or Hipserv app for mobile OR www.seagateshare.com in any browser OR set up shares and email access. But first you need to allow remote access in preferences.

Re: USB - No files?

I tried rebooting. The drive still listed as empty. Does it need to be formatted in a specific format?

Re: USB - No files?

The filesystem shoudn't matter, the GFH is a Linux OS so it should read most filesystems (don't know about Mac HFS+)

NTFS or FAT32 are definitely no problem.

Try connecting the drive back to your PC and check for filesystem errors - in a Windows command window type the drive letter eg E:  to move to the drive root and then chkdsk /f to check and fix errors.
