I'm using the included Memeo Instant Backup with a Seagate GoFlex Home Network device with my laptop.
When I get home in the evening and re-establish wireless network connections with my laptop, I can't get the Memeo program to recognize that the drive is attached. I can access the drive and view the directories, the dashboard can be refreshed to recognize the device, my network recognizes the drive... but I can't get by the Memeo error message: "Please connect your storage device to resume backup." It's connected! But Instant Backup won't recognize the fact.
What am I missing?

OK, here's the answer - delete the backup plan and re-create it within the Memeo Instant Backup software

Do you have to do that every time you connect to a different network and then reconnect to your home network, like the original poster who was using their laptop away from home during the day?
Thanks for the tip btw.

I did this method before and it re initiate the backup from scratch again.
I took more than a day to backup 1TB.
Memeo should work this out and I think this is a simple job also.
Or let us modify the configuration file to show the correct backup device.

I have read literally hundreds of posts on scores of forums about this issue. When the software works properly it is fine. For some inexplicable reason the connection fails and is unable to resume. Why should I redo a whole backup several times a week? Why can't the programmers fix this? I bought the Seagate device for what it does - but it doesn't do it 1% of the time - which effectively renders it useless. As Jeremy Clarkson would say "How hard can it be?"
I don't care who is at fault, but Seagate, please GET MEMEO TO FIX IT!
