Hello,
I have following configuration:
1. 1 TB Goflex home drive
2. D-link DIR-655 gigabit router
3. Windows 7 32 bit
I am transferring my data onto my goflex home drive, but the transfer rate is painfully slow. I am getting an average speed of 1.67 MB/sec (or 8 times Mbits/sec). I have connected my laptop through ethernet to DIR-655 router and my goflex drive is connected to do that.
Are you guys also experiencing this slow rate of transfer. I have 130 GB of data that I need to transfer, it will take me more than ~60 hours to do that.
Please help.
regards,
Avesh

Is the Dir-655 from virgin? Had simular issue, bought a belkin router and get between 20-50MBs (still no way close to the 100MB for a 1000mb connection
)
Also using Cat 6 cables

No, Its from D-link. Its extreme N- Giga bit router.
I am not sure I have cat-6 cable though. I'll check that

Hi
After formatting my PC, my transfer speed decreased to about 3MB, so I turned off Qos Packet Schedular (local area connection properties), rebooted and now got 12.8MBs (on average). Did have about 20MB before format so not sure why its gone down (not done all updates as yet).
This is an old fix going back to Vista, search google for slow net work speeds on vista for tips.
Note: Never got above 8MB with a Cat5E cable on 100mb router.
Ebay got cheap belkin Cat6 cables going.
