Has anyone tried installing sqlDesktopServer on the Hipserv?
I have been trying out sqlDesktop Document Management system on my Win 7 laptop and I'm fairly happy with it so far.
Yes, there are better open source document management apps for Windows, (so there's no need to post telling me that unless you really want to) but I was looking for something that I could install in Hipserv.
SqlDesktop will run off a USB flash drive, has a Linux version and a network server edition so it seems ideal.
The Windows desktop client runs fine with the database and docs on the GFH mapped drive, so I could just stick with that setup.
(tbh I'm not sure that I'll ever need access from another machine or remotely and I'd need to install a local client anyway, so I'm not sure what advantages the server version offers, apart from not having to point each client to a source on a mapped drive).
The server version does require a licence purchase, so I thought I'd check first and couldn't find anything on the Stora forums or anywhere else, so I thought I'd ask the question here.
