Can't get my iPad 3 to connect

Hi all,

I have connected my iPad 1 to the go flex with no problems.  When I connect my iPad 3 to the drive in settings, it connects and shows the wireless connection is active, but when I try to look at any of the menu options I get the following error, "Not Connected, On your Apple device, go to Settings> Wi-Fi and then select your GoFlex Satellitefrom the list of wireless networks."  Trouble is, the connection is already up and active, but the software doesn't seem to recognize it.  I'm at a loss, not sure what to do.  Any ideas?

Regards,

rudedd

Hi ruded,

What model is your IPad 3? wifi only

Just as an FYI there are currently some known issues and apple has acknowledged this - http://9to5mac.com/2012/04/04/apple-investigating-new-ipad-wifi-issues-tells-applecare-to-replace-af...

Re: Can't get my iPad 3 to connect

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for the reply, it is a 16GB 4G model.  Although I've had no issues with my connection to my home network, it's only the GoFlex that has given me trouble.

Regards,

Re: Can't get my iPad 3 to connect

I've had this exact same problem with my iPad 3!  Were you able to find a solution to this problem?  I haven't heard back yet from Seagate tech support, so I'm waiting on that.  I've even tried to delete the GoFlex app on my iPad and then re-install, but that didn't work either.  Not sure what to do?

Re: Can't get my iPad 3 to connect

I just got a new iPad (3) and am having no issues with it. Can you share some info? 1) What firmware are you running on your GoFlex Satellite? 2) Do you by any chance have the GoFlex named the same as your router? 3) could you try closing all programs, (in the multitasking bar ) and then rebooting your new iPad and see if you can connect then? 4) tell me about how full. Your Goflex Satellite is? Thanks

[ Edited ]

The wifi range issue on the new iPad (3) is really annoying, I was really sadden when I tried my new toy and this happened to me.I spent quite a bit of time researching for a solution, without any luck. All of the methods I found didn't work for me.Finally I had the luck to land on a review of a case from Pong Research http://www.pongresearch.com/new-ipad.html. They produce this really interesting cases that have an antennae in between layers of the back cover, which redirects and boost the wifi signals into/from the antennae built-in the iPad, this fixes the new iPad 3 wifi range issues.

Re: Can't get my iPad 3 to connect

I contacted tech support and they provided the following answer.  It worked with my ipad 2.

When you turn the GoFlex Satellite on does the WiFi light turn solid green after about 2 minutes of blinking green? If so do you see the solid green light flash blue occasionally?

If you do please turn on your mobile device and remove the GoFlex Media App and power it off and back on and reinstall GoFlex Media App. Connect your mobile device to the Satellite WiFi and open the GoFlex Media App and go to settings. Scroll to the bottom of settings and look for the GoFlex Media App Ver. and the Satellite Software Ver. and please tell me what you see.

If your firmware is up to date and you have the latest GoFlex Media App versions you will see:

GoFlex Media App Ver. 1.3.6.4

Satellite Software Ver. 1.3.6.001

If you see a lesser number in either of these version numbers then they are not yet up to date.
