Couple of questions, 

1. Is there a way to charge the hard drive using a Mac ( the hard drive is ejected) and access it using an ipad at the same time ? (I couldn't do it)

*this could be helpful as you can charge it on a friend's laptop while using it on the tablet.

2.why do I have to turn the hard drive off then on after ejecting it from Mac to access it on the ipad.

Note: I am using the latest firmware 1.3.5.015

I ran into the same problem.  We just traveled to New Orleans for the Final Four and the battery was going low so i plugged it into our USB in the car and it killed the WiFi signal.  Shouldnt we be able to charge (have it plugged in) and watch movies via the WiFi at the same time?

The manual states that while connected to usb, whether for coping files or charging, the wi-fi is disabled. However, if you were connected to the cigarette lighter for power, you would be able to charge and use the wi-fi at the same time

If you just want to charge it, use the USB charge cable (the one with the barrel connector that plugs into the side).  Only use the USB data cable when you want to tranfer data over USB. 

It comes down to who owns the file system.  In USB mode, the computer you plugged into owns the file system. 

In wireless mode, the computer inside the goflex owns the file system.
