How to stream videos from HD to Apple TV wirelessly?

You need an intermediary airplay capable  device (ipad/iphone/etc)

Run goflex app on ipad or iphone

use connect to wifi feature to connect to the same wifi the AppleTV is on

Connect to that same wifi from the ipad/iphone

connect to the goflex in Safari, url is http://goflexsatellite-{serial number from botttom of unit}.local

Find and play the video on the ipad/iphone

Turn on airplay and stream to the appletv

Thanx! Streaming with iPad is ok! But I' d like to do it directly to Apple TV without using the third device! Any sugestions? Probably there must be a special player on Apple TV. Becauce it doesn't stream video through a browser

If you jailbreak the atv you can use a different player to stream over upnp/dlna. The ultimate solution would be a daap server on the goflex with home sharing support but there doesn't seem to be any development going on in that direction.

You have to jailbreak aTV with FireCore SeasOnPass (http://support.firecore.com/forums). Then install aTV Flash (black) for 2nd generation aTV. It has a browser called Couch Surfer. When you connect aTV to the GoFlex Satellite, the browser will automatically redirect to the Satellite's contents just like it does on any other browser. When you click on an audio or video file, it will play it as long as it is aTV compatible. I stream mp4 videos all the time through my aTV. Be advised: Couch Surfer has zoom in & out settings that have to be adjusted to get the screen to display correctly.

I been using my GoFlex Satelite for a while and like it alot and then I heard that Apple TV was going to be new with OS 5.x and I thought I wait to the new one and I would love it work directly with the GoFlex Satelite.

It would be so great to be able to access all my media with out worring about hooking and connecting devices. No Jail breaking of device.

What I would hope that Seagate does is work with Apple and create a special Application for the Apple TV that allows it to use the Satelite directly.  I would expect this would benifit both Apple and Seagate if this is done.

Another idea what about GoFlex adapter to make a GoFlex drive AirPlay compable.  Or better yet - firmware update for Goflex satelite.
