Goflex satellite file management - New user

Acquired the Goflex Satellite for extra storage space on my iPad. I did not do enough research and was very disappointed that the Goflex media app for iPad did not include even the most basic features for storage systems.

 

Are there any app out there that could organize files on the goflex satellite using the iPad? I would like to rename, move, delete, create new folders on my iPad. Is Seagate working on this or is it simply impossible?

This is what I've done for android (not sure if it works on iOS as Apple doesn't seem to fond of "file explorers" for their system)

 

Installed Samba onto the seagate drive

Browse to the folder on my lan - full file explorer capabiltiies.

 

You can find instructions on Samba on the forums or off of some blogs, super easy but whether or not it works on iOS will be the issue.

 

With this method I've never even used the Seagate app software, just browse to the files I want and open them.
