Re: How do large media libraries get indexed?

[ Edited ]

I don't think it is going to work Benger. Really ridiculous that they have not fixed this yet. The unit works great for small libraries. Hopefully they can fix it soon as I was hoping to use it along with the Bose Soundlink speaker that I just got for fathers day in Stone Harbor this summer!

By the way, the Bose Speaker is Awesome!

Re: How do large media libraries get indexed?

Just a few days ago got mine with the hope I can listen to lossless music at work without touching the work PC.

This has been a pain so far. The first 30 minutes it froze twice. I read Seagate is suggesting to delete the .swap file without giving a guide how to do it on MAC. Actually .swap is a folder and for some MAC user is a problem because MAC doesn't show .files by default. I used the terminal as I know UNIX. I guess that fixed the freezing problem.

It took two attempt to move 400 albums in ALAC format (roughly 3 time the size of mp3) onto this device. The first time it took 12 hours for it and didn't work.

Now, indexing is an issue. Does anybody knows what to change to have the album indexed in numerical order and not alphabetical order? Just to make it clear if you have a gapless album and run the songs in alphabetical order instead of numerical order the album becomes a mess.

What is wrong with the Seagate's developers? Can't they put something on the market without a year of issues?
