I believe it's not just for iPad, it should work for all wifi-enable uPNP/DLNA gadgets to pull in video and music files.

Exactly. The marketing seems to be thrust toward tablet users, though.

Re: Introducing the new GoFlex Satellite!

When I open a video in the Browser I get the option to open in a Third Party Player, (in my case GoodPlayer) but I don't get this option in the GoFlex App, how do I get it to give me the option?

Re: Introducing the new GoFlex Satellite!

Hi Alan,

Brand new user today, impressed so far.

Will the ability to connect to the GF Sat wirelessly whilst connected via USB be included in the future?

Case study, is the ability to have the GF Sat plugged into a blueray/media player for playing on a big screen and being able to upload to wirelessly without needing to disconnect the USB first.

Re: Introducing the new GoFlex Satellite!

Dear oldwineguy, as incredible as it sounds Seagate simply FORGOT how to explain step by step how to play videos in other formats that iPad can't read, a failiure in their brochures, tutorials, guides etc. Seagate and it's masters just say You can play
other formats like avi, DivX etc. in you iPad by using or installing the OPlayer, BUT they don't say how !!! There is a french guy
who made his own tutorial video because Seagate forgot to make the homework on this issue, I invite you to watch this video
explaining step by step how to create the link to the OPlayer or the Buzz Player or your own player, you will be surprised.

Re: Introducing the new GoFlex Satellite!

Yes it works fine on a plane.  WIFI is fine once you're able to turn on electronic devices.  I suggest password protecting your WIFI signal unless you just feel like letting other people watch your movies :smileyhappy:
