On a related note, I just bought a new car. As I was leaving, the salesguy mentioned something about needing a license, or something. What's that all about? ;-)
Seriously, though... yeah, it should work fine with either iPad. Or really, any device with a broswer would work as well. It does have an App for ipad/iphone/ipod touch as well as Android, but the browser UI is just about the same.
As far as an airplane... it 'should' work anywhere, but as it is a wifi transmitter, it is subject to the usual restrictions. At least during takeoff and landing, all devices must be off. Not sure if it has ever been stated explicitly if it is allowed during cruising. Of course, the beauty of the device is that you can just turn it on and and leave it in your carry-on, and use your iPad as if it was offline. (shhh...) But I have heard of people even being told to put away their Kindles, so it may depend even more on your particular flight crew.

Does anyone have any updated information about using the Seagate GoFlex Satellite on an airplae. I am going to Europe next week and was planning to load it with movies and watch while I'm in the air.
