Hard to believe it's been over a month on the market and the software hasn't been cleaned up. It's abysmal, both Android and iOS. Oh, well at least DLNA offers some relief. We can probably count on near-zero support. It's always on to the next product, screw the last with these corps.
I'd like to see:
1. Fix the folder support on both platforms.
2. Add smb shares. It's linux and drop-dead simple.
Also: Anyone been able to telnet into this thing? Searching for Arago 2010.05 dm3730-am3715-evm seems to indicate a blank root password, but no dice here.

How else? State objective findings and suggest improvements. Attacking character wouldn't work well with me if someone saw a flaw. Constructive advice would though.

Insult? Not hardly. I could send this thing back to Amazon, then spread the word near and far on how bad the software is. Posting here is merely letting Seagate know I'm peeved.
I'd like to see if they follow through with promises made to journalists like Walt Mossberg and do significant updates on the client software. If not I hope the community is able extend the device.

The findings have been stated up and down this forum on all the bugs.... example open-in is broken on the app, no upload feature, major issues with connecting to the device, with advertised products doesnt always play converted media at full frame rate like it should and thats just off the top of my head and you know what we got for our $200 in the past two months a few bug fixes and some image enhancement features AKA we didnt get anything useful. ill stop being harsh when they start putting out usful firmware updates...
