Reindexing

Hi. I bought my Satellite this week. I have found the software from the appstore crashes all the time and is unusable so have bought 8player. My main problem, which is making the device unusable is that every time I put it into standby with a touch on the power button I have to wait at least an hour for it to reindex when i try to use it the next time. I put it to sleep earlier today and I tried to use it about 3 hours ago but it still isnt showing all my music and only about 1/50 of my videos. Is this normal or is my device faulty?? Thanks for your replies

I went through two units. Neither could index a large music library 18,000+ songs.  The first unit froze, so it went back.  I lurked here for awhile until a firmware update "fixed" the problem, and repurchased it. Again, it failed to index.  Great concept, poor execution.  If you get it to work, wonderful....I'd bag it and wait for someone else who can implement this idea better.  Disappointing...
