I am having various isses with my GoFlex Satellite drive, and wanted to try a firmware upgrade to resolve. I follow the guide on the support pages but my device keeps displaying an old version - and all seems to be unchanged. There is a mysterious folder in the root of the drive which was created as I tried this. Could a corruption to this folder cause this? Would reformatting be a good next step to troubleshoot?
It would be helpful to list your steps in order. Are you waiting at least 5 minutes for the update to complete? Does the firmware file you copy to the satellite get deleted? (by the satellite?) What firmware does your device show it has on it now?
