use with regular usb cable?

I am new to using the goflex series and just got a satellite wireless. Is there a way to use the drive with a standard usb cable instead of the odd shaped cable that shipped with the unit? I saw the usb 2.0 adapter, but the details were not clear on its uses or capabilities.

Yes, any cable that will fit on the end of the GoFlex module will work.
