I just bought one of the new Momentus XT hard drives and I have it installed on my 15" Macbook Pro.
The drive seem to actually be running fine but sometimes it seems that the solid state part of the drive isn't working like it should.
For one whenever I play any type of media I will get skips and pauses in the playback. This happens with both music and video and it did not happen in my previous 5400 RPM drive.
Also every time I restart my computer the adaptive memory seems to reset. I can restart a couple of times to build up the speed of my boot ups but, if I use the computer for a while and restart again the boot up time goes way up again. The same thing will happen with my applications. I use them for a while and then once I restart the computer the start time of my application I have been frequently using goes back to starting up almost as slow as before I got the new drive.
Is any of this normal? Should I get a replacement drive?
