I have just upgraded my pc to one running vista, and thought I'd try this again, no success, exact same problem, so I now am positive this is a maxtor problem. Whilst its handy have a seperate hard drive, I bought it for the remote access.
By the number of views I doubt I will get a response now.

One of the hard drive in my central axis(converted from shared storage II) failed. I wipe the remaining hard drive clean, partitioned the remaining hard drive and a new hard drive, copied firmware on to both hard drive, then put them back into the casing. You can get the Central Axis firmware from seagate website, the produre to partition hard drive can be found at this website

If you want to do it, make sure backup all your data, since you are going to wipe out all data on your hard drives. Post back if you have any questions during the process.

Did you ever solve this? I have the same problem with 3.5.74. Thanks, David.

No. It has never worked and I have spent way too much time on it. Support = 0
