Hello everyone and happy new year!
My old rive didn't sound good and I decided after 6 years it was time to replace it. Before I get rid of the drive, I wanted to make sure all personal data was gone. I deleted all the files and folders but (and I must watch too much TV), I know that old data can somehow be restored.
When I connect the drive back up, I can see it on my XP machine (which is also an old machine) but neither of my Win 7 machines show it as a network drive.
So using XP, how might I be able to fdisk, format or something like that to try and make sure the data is really difficult for anyone to recover?
