Error "Not enough free disk space"

[ Edited ]
Device = Maxtor Shared Storage HB300R (300GB)

Hi,
I hope someone can explain and point me to the right path to correct my following issue.
I recently tried to copy a number of files (200Mb) under my user account,
It starts copying the data and when it copies approx. 50Mb, I get an error indicating that it cannot copy due to "not enough free disk space" and to delete one or more files to free disk space.

Under the Maxtor Quick Start menu
Simple View Storage & Backup Status. the menu shows
Used Space = 135Gb
Free Space  = 165Gb

Yet, when I use Windows Explorer to browse the map drive, under "Properties" it shows:
Used Space = 278Gb
Free Space =  56Mb

Why the descrepencies?
If the above second set of numbers were to be the correct ones, would the remaining 22Gb (300 - 278) of space be perhaps allocated to other user's account?

also i will suggest you to select show hidden files and folders from Windows...
