I have a maxtor shared storage II devide here, 500Gb I think, that I want to be able to check how much free space there is left. I have been through every option I can find in the web console, but cannot seem to find this option anywhere. Can anyone help?

Windows Vista.
Select "computer" (my computer in XP).
Tools.
Map network drive.
Select any folder on the MSS drive.

Still in "computer"
Display as "Tiles" or right click and select "properties" on the drive you just "mapped".
Free space displayed is free space for the whole drive.

Should work in XP too.

I was just donated an MSS II, 1TB, running 3.1.26 software.

Rather lame how it does NOT seem to give free space on a management page (status!?)

First impressions are not great.

First of I did not realize it came with a a bad power supply.

The power light was ON, but Orange. No disks spinning, no action from power or reset button

Network light were flickering albeit faintly.. but I dod not know how strong they should light.

Using an alternative powersupply it came up. Reset network and it works now.

Very slow web-interface.

Anyway, thanks for the freespace hint.
