I start the backup process using Maxtor Manager and everything starts fine, then part way into the back up a failure message pops up that says "The destination is not accessible." Why? Some files were writtent to the drive? I have tried this several times and it always fails about 2-4 minutes into the process. Any help would be appreciated.

You might try increasing the lease time on your DHCP Server/ Router. If it is on a wireless connection you might try using an Ethernet cable. Map a networkdrive to the backup to keep the connection "active". Check firewall settings. Make sure you have the latest software. Make sure the files are not extremely large. Try a smaller backup of data to see if that works.

I'm having the same trouble. I can transfer files, but in transfering single large files (68gb) and multiple individual files (100+GB of photos) I at random get this error after about an hour or so. My router is set to renew the lease in 24 hours. I have the drive Mapped as a network drive.
I'm hoping someone can answer this issue... soon. I've only had the drive for 24 hours and I'm already considering a return (after this holiday traffic dies down).
